First, repeat after me. The summer is not over. Yet.

Winter is too long to not take advantage of every mild day we have left. Yes there are still chores, but steal 15 minutes each day to just sit in your garden and let your senses absorb what surrounds you. Breathe and sigh happily.

After you’ve allowed yourself this little indulgence, here’s a partial list of what needs to get done: Seed collecting, taking cuttings of tender plants to winter over indoors, dividing, transplanting many perennials, especially early spring bloomers. Weeding. Updating Containers for Fall....

Planting Time is Here Again!

September’s warm soil, cool night temperatures and regular rainfall aid in establishing vigorous root systems which will support eager growth next season. It’s the best time to renovate an early spring garden, and of course, what better time to add fall color for a grand finale of flowers, foliage and ripening fruit. Need ideas?
