In New England Viburnum carlesii is known as The Mayflower or Mother's Day Viburnum, since it is always in bloom in for that special day in early May. 'Diane' is a compact cultivar of this species with reddish pink buds opening to the most fragrant white blossoms whose heady perfume fills the whole garden. Fall color is a deep burgundy. Grows 5-6' high and wide.
