Recently introduced by the JC Raulston Arboretum, this hybrid of the above C. sinensis and our native C. florida, boasts 2-3” deep wine red magnolia like flowers in May. It lacks fragrance but is a handsome shrub with lustrous dark green disease resistant foliage.
