Hosta 'Designer Genes'

Hosta 'Designer Genes' creates a dramatic scene in the garden when it emerges in the spring. Dark wine colored shoots unfold revealing glowing golden foliage. The strong yellow color lasts for quite some time, eventually mellowing to chartreuse, but the wine red petioles continue to add contrast all season. Lavender flowers in mid summer. Plants grow about 12" tall and 18" wide.
