Cimicifuga simplex 'Hillside Black Beauty'

Fairy Candles, Bugbane
'Hillside Black Beauty' is a classic plant for the moist shady garden. 18-24" clumps of chocolate black foliage give rise to 5-6' spires of creamy white flowers in late summer and early fall. This plant has a number of common names, including Black Cohosh, Bugbane, and Fairy Candles. You might also note that the genus Cimicifuga has been reclassified as Actaea but we will continue to also list it as Cimicfuga.
