Astilbe chinensis 'Visions in White'

Chinese Astilbe
Chinese Astilbe bloom later and are more tolerant of drier soils than most of the other Astilbe species and hybrids. 'Visions in White' sends forth chunky white plumes on 2' stems above dark teen somewhat shiny foliage in mid summer. Some literature is reporting this as drought tolerant, but it really is at its best in a soil that does hold some moisture, and it wills oread modestly where happy.
