Description
Nodding Onion is a Missouri native with pendant pale pink to lavender blossoms. Hummingbirds are said to adore their nectar, and it is a host to the Hairstreak Butterfly Caterpillar. Plants grow 1-2′ tall and form tidy clumps of narrow chive like foliage. It does self sow, so consider it for naturalizing. Early-midsummer blooming, this is a nice addition to the pollinator garden, is drought tolerant and deer resistant.
