Description
Come October, the perennial Chrysanthemums own the show and provide bees and the last of the Monarchs a pit stop for pollen and nectar. This selection is quite close to ‘October Glory’ in coloring (could it be the same?). Plants will reach 3′ and spill for that casual effect, but you can counter the height by pinching back around th 4th of July to shorten the blowsiness. Chrysanthemum tend to be shallow rooted, so if you haven’t had luck wintering them over, try putting a winter mulch of evergreen boughs over the plants in late December.
