Description
Sea Holly is a great plant for hot sandy well drained soils (and of course seaside gardens). Rising from broad dark green elliptical leaves, 2-3′ stems bear branches of collared steel blue thistle like flowers in profusion during the summer months which attract multitudes of pollinators. Plants develop a tap root, so best left undisturbed. Do note that it can self sow aggressively where it is happy.
