Description
Commonly called elecampane, this rhizomatous, sunflower-like composite of the Aster family is native to Europe and northern Asia. That being said, our local pollinators never tire of it. 2-3″ blossoms feature spidery yellow rays around a center disk of darker yellow tubular flowers during July-September. Elecampane likes moist soil, and can grow 3-6′ tall.
