Description
We at last have found the trick to propagating this bodacious Japanese Bush Clover. The arching stems are laden with white pea blossoms in Septmeber. In our climate we treat it as a perennial, cutting back the woody stems to the ground in spring. Fear not, once the days are warm again, new shoots emerge and reach heights of 4-6′. Lespedeza wants a sharp draining soil, and is most appreciated where its cascading branches are used to spill over slopes or retaining walls. And yes it will soon be discovered by pollinators once it’s in bloom.
