Description
One of the last of the Blazing Star or Gayfeather species to bloom, this prairie native has lavender button like blossoms that open from the top down. It’s a Butterfly favorite coming into bloom in late summer into October. Flowering stalks are in the 4′ range. Tolerant of summer drought but not winter wetness, This is a plant for the dry garden.
