Description
Not to be confused with the taller growing M. arundinacea, this compact variegated form of Purple Moor Grass develops clumps of narrow white edged foliage to 18″, with 3′ tall stems of wispy inflorescence in summer. Grows best in a soil that doesn’t bake; part shade works in hotter summer areas. In fall the foliage turns golden with amber gold seed heads.
