Description
When March rolls around here in the Northeast, the sight of pink pussy willows against the waning winter landscape is truly a gift. It’s also a shrub for pollinators as the male catkins offer an early pollen source to honeybees. Japanese Pussy Willow can grow 10-12′ tall, but pruning branches each season for cut material will keep its size in check. Willows thrive in moist soil.
