Drought Tolerant Shrubs

Lagerstroemeria 'Like a Latte'

shrubby crape myrtle
Whenever we visited points south and came across Crape Myrtles, we would sigh, knowing our winter climate just would be too much. Then we heard about these dwarf shrubby hybrids from Walters Gardens, bred to be hardy in zone 6-9. This selection, 'Like a Latte', has white flowers which open from coppery red buds, and dark purple foliage. Grows only to 2' tall and 3' wide. We recommend spring planting in the northern limits of its hardiness range. Robust Qt. Pots.
